Success of Catalan Films & TV activities at the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia - Sitges

Within the framework of the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, Catalan Films & TV organized a number of parallel activities that were extremely well received by the industry. Particularly worthy of note was the successful audience turnout of the Third Cinema and Videogame Conference, which was jointly hosted by Televisió de Catalunya and Catalan Films & TV. A synopsis of the event will be available in the upcoming weeks. Also, on 14 October, the Brazil-Catalonia-Italy coproduction meeting was held, featuring the participation of some 70 producers.
Moreover, on 13 October, Egeda held its Board of Directors meeting, in which the association signed a letter of intent between itself and Catalan Films & TV, for the creation of a screening platform called VEOCatalanFilms.cat, through the Filmotech.com streaming portal. The new platform will enable visitors to view the Catalan audiovisual works intended for international promotion at festivals, markets, coproduction meetings and Catalan communities abroad.
Finally, the Catalan industry's success at Sitges culminated with the Golden Méliès Award, which went out to the film Buried, directed by Rodrigo Cortés and produced by Versus Entertainment.
