7 Catalan productions in the official competition at the Guadalajara International Film Festival
'Year of Grace', 'The Double Steps' and 'Futures market' included in competition02/02/2012

The Guadalajara International Film Festival, which will be held 2 - 10 March, has announced its line-up, which includes seven Catalan productions in competition.
Hence, competing for the Best Ibero-American Feature-Length Fiction are two titles: the latest film by director Ventura Pons, Any de Gràcia / Year of Grace , which will coming to Catalan theatres soon, and Los pasos dobles / The Double Steps by Isaki Lacuesta, a Golden Shell winner at the last San Sebastian Festival.
The Documentary category also includes a film with one of the longest runs at international festivals, Mercado de Futuros / Futures Market , by Mercedes Álvarez, who was widely acclaimed for her previous film, El cielo gira.
Finally, the Short Films section has selected El somriure amagat / The Hidden Smile and Odysseus’ Gambit , both of which were presented at the recent Sundance Festival; Leyenda / Legend , which premiered at Sitges; and Alto Sauce , a production that forms part of the Short-Cat 2012 programme for the international promotion of Catalan short films.
