Great news for Catalan producers at the Malaga Festival
A total of 26 Catalan films were selected to take part in the most recent celebration of the Malaga Film Festival. All together, they walked off with 13 awards.26/04/2010

Thus, on the official list of winners, Biznagas went out to the following films:
- Silver Biznaga for Best Costume Design: Núria Anglada, for Herois / Heroes (Media Films and Televisió de Catalunya)
- Silver Biznaga Critics' Award: La vida empieza hoy / Life Begins Today, by Laura Mañá (Ovideo TV, with the participation of Televisió de Catalunya)
- Silver Biznaga Audience Award: Herois / Heroes, by Pau Freixas (Media Films and Televisió de Catalunya)
In the Official Documentary section, the following Catalan productions were awarded:
- Silver Biznaga for Best Documentary, the 'Malaga Opinion" Prize: Cuchillo de palo / 108, by Renate Costa (Estudi Playtime)
- Special Jury Mention: Mi vida con Carlos / My Life with Carlos, by Germán Berger-Hertz (Todo por las niñas and Cinedirecto Producciones)
Yet it was in the ZonaZine section where Catalan industry amassed the bulk of its awards:
- Silver Biznaga for Best Film: Fals Orgasme / Fake Orgasm, by Jo Sol (Zip Films and Killer Films, with the participation of Televisió de Catalunya)
- Silver Biznaga for Best Director: Luis Sampieri for Fin / End (Cierzo Films and LS Producciones)
- Silver Biznaga for Best Actor: Blai Llopis for La nit que va morir l'Elvis / The Night Elvis Died (Enunai Produccions, Cromosoma and Televisió de Catalunya)
- Silver Biznaga for Best Actress: Ana Álvarez for Ments Sospitoses / Suspicious Minds (Discóbolo Films, with the participation of Televisió de Catalunya)
- ALMA Award for Best New Screenwriter: Ramon Mozo, for Ments Sospitoses / Suspicious Minds (Discóbolo Films, with the participation of Televisió de Catalunya)
- Special Jury Award for La nit que va morir l'Elvis / The Night Elvis Died (Enunai Produccions, Cromosoma and Televisió de Catalunya)
Finally, as to the Official Section's short films, Miguel Ángel Jenner was honoured with the Silver Biznaga as Best Actor for his role in La historia de sempre / The Same Old Story (Bastian Films); and the Malaga Diocese's Signis Award went out to Circuit, by Xavier Ribera (Amas and Televisió de Catalunya).
