The 60th Berlin International Film Festival and its parallel European Film Market opened the doors to the international film industry between 11 and 21 February 2010, drawing some thirty Catalan companies to Berlin to take part in this important annual affair. Catalan Films & TV also kept its date with the event, setting up its usual stand in the Spanish Pavilion, in the famous Martin Gropius Bau building.
The films selected in the festival line-up included three Catalan productions. Thus, the feature films Fin / End, directed by Luis Sampiteri (produced by Cierzo Films) and Henry 4, directed by Jo Baier (co-produced by the Catalan Film Institute) took part in the Forum and Berlinale Special sections, respectively; while Renate Costa's documentary Cuchillo de Palo / 108 (produced by Estudi Playtime) participated in the Panorama Dokumente section.
What's more, Catalan Films & TV joined forces with Cinema do Brasil, Cinecittà Luce, the Roma Lazio Film Commission and Promomadrid to host a coproduction meeting for the audiovisual industries of Catalonia, Brazil, Italy and Madrid.
