Catalan animation industry is extremely dynamic and made up of prominent producers such as Cromosoma, Imira Entertainment, D'Ocon Films, Motion Pictures, Neptuno Films, BRB Internacional, Filmax, Tomavistas and Edebé, and younger, up-and-coming companies including Aviatrix, Sol 90, Stor Fisk, Inmagic, Kotoc, Anera, Magoproduction, Pataboom, BNC, Osibis and El Jueves, with its new audiovisual division.
The market has been a push for many of the animation companies. Specifically, Imira held the closure of two major agreements: on one hand, the co-production of a 3D animated series called Escape Hockey, with Enne Entertainment Studios and Carpe Diem Films and TV. And, on the other hand, they closed a distribution deal for TV and DVD in the territories of Spain, Italy and Portugal for the Canadian series Justin Time. Finally, Neptuno Films has closed a co-production agreement with Animasia Studios, Malaysia, for a 2D series called Kung Fu Chicken.
