On the one hand, Catalan Films &TV and Filmin, in cooperation with Media Antena Catalunya, will be hosting Internet and Europe: Challenges and Opportunities for Our Cinema, a seminar to be held on 10 October at 10:00 am at the Hotel Melià's Sala Tramuntana, in Sitges. And on the other hand, Catalan Films & TV and Televisió de Catalunya have joined forces with Media Antena Catalunya to host the 4th Videogame and Audiovisual Production Seminar, which will be held at 3:30 pm, an event that will be exploring the most recent state of affairs of digital entertainment and its interaction with the cinema.

Internet and Euorope: Challenges and Opportunities for Our Cinema, will begin with opening presentations by Felix Riera (Director of the Catalan Institute of Cultural Industries, ICIC), Angel Sala (Director of the Sitges Film Festival), Jaume Ripoll (Director of Filmin), Juan Alia (Filmotech) and Alex Navarro (Director of CF&TV).

Next, sector professionals Jean-Yves Bloch (Director of Univerciné and EuroVoD), Dragoslav Zachariev (EuroVoD Project Manager), Maxime Lacour (Managing Director of the VOD Network in Belgium), Harald Baur (Head of Legal Affairs for the VOD Network in Germany) and Andrew Lowe (Joint Managing Director of the VOD Network in Ireland), will be analysing the current state of affairs of Internet distribution, the arrival of audiovisual media to new devices and the possible conflict among the television-based models and flat-rate portals.

Taking part in this discussion are the main directors of the different EuroVoD member portals, who will share their experience and shed light on the competition and the different existing legislative measures in their respective countries. The seminar will also provide useful information on how to attain European distribution for feature-length fiction and documentary films.

The 4th Videogame and Audiovisual Production Seminar, will be presented by Felix Riera, the Director of the Catalan Institute of Cultural Industries (ICIC); Angel Sala, the Director of the Sitges Film Festival, Ivan Lobo the Director of Gamelab; Victor Carrera, the Head of International Relations at Televisió de Catalunya; and Alex Navarro the Director of CF&T. 

This seminar will be divided into two large sections: "The Videogame and Audiovisual Production", a round table moderated by Oriol Boira (Videogame Creator at TVC's Canal Super3); and "Multiplatforms as New Business Models", which will be moderated by Jordi Sellas (Co-director and Presenter  of the Catalunya Radio-TVC show "Generació Digital").

This discussion will additionally feature the participation of some of the most important figures and companies in the digital entertainment sector, such as Enric Alvarez (Mercury Steam), David Darnés (Manager of Communication at Ubisoft), Nacho García (Director of Abylight), Oscar Araujo (composer), Santiago Ontañón (Artificial Intelligence Researcher at the CSIC’s Artificial Intelligence Research Institute), David Jaumandreu (Founder of and Videogame Designer at Undercoders), Fernando Piquer (CEO and Founder of Bitton Games), Gina Tost (Content Director and Presenter of TVC’s “Generació Digital”), Lluis Marquina (Journalist and Presenter at TVC and the Editor of Canal 3XL) and Xavier Montanyà (Director of Website and Publications for Super 3).
