3 Big Catalan Co-Productions at Cannes
3 Catalan-produced films have been selected for different sections of the Cannes Film Festival. 56 Catalan companies will be attending the Marché du Film.05/05/2010

Feature film Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, by Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, will be competing for the Festival's Golden Palm Award. This film is one of the festival's most international co-productions, comprising: Illumination Films, Past Lives Productions, Kick the Machine Films, Anna Sandres Films, The Match Factory, GFF Geissendoerfer Film, Fernsehproduktion KG and Catalan company Eddie Saeta.
Moreover, Eddie Saeta also participated in filmmaker Manoel de Oliveira's latest movie, a co-production with Portuguese production company Films do Tejo. This feature film, entitled O Estranho caso de Angelica, can be seen in the Un Certain Regard section.
Director Jaime Rosales has been selected to participate in the Cannes Festival's Atelier with the project Sueño y Silencio by Fresdeval Films, Wanda Vision and Les Films de Balthazar.
As regards the market, 56 Catalan companies will be attending the Marché du Film, the film fair that takes place in parallel to the festival and represents its most industrial facet. 7 Catalan films will be screened at this market for international buyers.
