It's finally confirmed. Recha's latest film will be presented with all honours at the upcoming celebration of the Locarno International Film Festival. The Swiss town will be hosting the premiere of Petit Indi, a story about the passage from innocence to adulthood, which will be screened at the event's star venue: the Piazza Grande, with an expected turnout of nearly 8000 viewers.

Yet the Catalan industry will also be taking part in the competition section with a short film, Absent, by Guillermo Asensio, which explores the desperate solitude of a woman who, nearing age forty, is faced with the ticking of her biological clock. What's more, the Catalan documentary will be making its presence known, with three titles in the Ici et Ailleurs section. The first is Blow Horn, producer Lluís Miñarro's (Eddie Saeta) second foray into the realm of film directing. The second documentary is Ich Bin Enric Marco, by Santiago Fillol and Lucas Vernal (Corte y Confección de Películas and Intermedio), which reveals the other side of the "Marco case", the story of a man who was accused of fraud for lying about his past in a Nazi concentration camp. The third film, In Between Days, is the result of the audiovisual exchange between filmmakers Isaki Lacuesta and Naomi Kawase, produced by the Contemporary Culture Centre of Barcelona. Finally, José Luis Guerin's En la ciudad de Sylvia / In the City of Sylvia (Eddie Saeta) was selected for the special jury's screening, as originally proposed by director and producer Lluís Miñarro, who will form part of the jury for the international competition.

For its part, Catalan Films & TV will be hosting a market research session in Open Doors, which this year will be focusing on projects from China and the Cannes Cinéfondation.
