Catalan Films & TV, working evermore closely with the Sitges Film Festival
The consortium is expanding the festival's parallel schedule of activities, featuring an interactive fiction session led by Televisiķ de Catalunya03/07/2009
Festivals
Last year, the consortium hosted two round-table discussions, one on marketing and another on videogames. Given the great interest sparked by the videogame session among the participating professionals, this year the consortium has decided to take up the issue again, offering a broader perspective of interactive fiction and multiplatform strategies. Thus, the plans are underway for two work sessions that will be addressing the synergies between animation and videogames and analysing the new formats, as well as the channels for content distribution. For its part, Televisió de Catalunya will be responsible for the themes of these conferences and the selection of the speakers.
At the same time, CF&TV is coordinating the arrival of a delegation of Mexican producers for a meeting with their Catalan colleagues. Mexico is one of the two focus regions around which Catalan Films & TV has centred its activity plan for 2009. In March, the consortium sent a group of Catalan companies to the Guadalajara International Film Festival, and will now be drawing on the framework of the Sitges Festival for the counterpart event.
Moreover, in keeping with previous celebrations, CF&TV will be offering further support for the Catalan productions selected in the Festival line-up, through the Catalan Focus programme. Finally, the consortium will be co-sponsoring the welcome pack for the event's registered participants.
