Catalan Films & TV strengthens coproduction with animation at Annecy

Generating coproduction and strengthening relations with strategic countries such as France and Canada were the objectives achieved at the last MIFA - Annecy Film Festival, alongside the promotion of international sales. Between 8th and 13th June, this event brought together some twenty animation production companies, in addition to Televisió de Catalunya. The delegation took part in two international coproduction meetings hosted by Catalan Films & TV, and this year opened negotiations for distribution in countries including Norway, Finland, Germany, Canada, Portugal and Holland.
To make the market programme complete, there was an institutional presentation at the Carrefour de la Création (Creative Focus), where different national and regional institutions from around Europe offered the details of their specific animation funding policies. As regards the Festival, the celebration featured the extraordinary participation of two Catalan productions in the competition section: Saari, directed by Pablo Jordi and produced by Stor Fisk, Imira Entertainment and Televisió de Catalunya; and ¡Hot Dog! Superheroes, directed by Miquel Ángel García and produced by El Jueves TV.
