Catalan Films & TV brings Catalan productions to the San Sebastian and Malaga Film Festivals

The directors of the Donostia - San Sebastian International Film Festival and the Malaga Film Festival recently came to Barcelona to meet with Catalan producers and to view the Catalan industry's most recent productions, for possible inclusion in the line-ups of these upcoming events. This is the first time that the two directors of these festivals have met with the Catalan industry, at the initiative of Catalan Films & TV. Last year, the consortium sponsored a similar encounter with the Locarno Film Festival and the parallel section of the Cannes Festival, the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs.
The aim of these meetings was to introduce the editorial penchant and selection processes of each competition and to reveal the productions envisaged to set out on the national and international festival circuit. The initiative proved to be extremely valuable for both sides, as the festival programmers and directors were able to access the films before they were presented at other events, and the producers had the opportunity to explain their products and tailor their festival strategies with more precision.
