Catalan Films & TV Unveils the Secrets of International Marketing and the Video Game Industry in Film Promotion

30/09/2008
Meeting

What are the secrets behind the launch of any film production? What are our best promotional strategies according to the film profile at hand? How can we prolong the life of a film through alternative windows like the video game? The answers to these and other questions will be the target of the two round tables hosted by Catalan Films & TV on 6th and 7th October, as part of the Sitges International Film Festival. Catalan Films & TV is also setting up a special area in the festival's headquarters as a meeting place for all participating professionals.

The first event plans to address film and video games and will be examining the three practical cases of the films Wanted, El rey de la montaña (King of the Hill) and Torrente. Moreover, the conference will be complete with a round-table discussion on the situation of the Catalan video game industry. The next day will be focussing on international marketing, with a discussion chaired by Variety Magazine's Spanish correspondent, John Hopewell. This conference will feature the participation of marketing guru John Durie, who has handled the promotion of over five hundred titles, including Reservoir Dogs. The practical cases to be analysed at this event include hit films such as Cronocrímenes (Time Crimes), El orfanato (The Orphanage), Che and the terror film [REC].

Attendance to both conferences is free of charge, however seating is limited. For further information please visit catalanfilmstv@gencat.cat and the alert Recorda! Catalan Films & TV a Sitges: Taules Rodones i Industry Meeting Point  (in Catalan only).
