Six companies will be presenting their latest works at the Canadian documentary market
Televisió de Catalunya, Motion Pictures, Medimed/Massa d'Or, Inicia Films, Batabat and Paral·lel 40 are the six Catalan companies that will be taking part in the upcoming celebration of Hotdocs. Held in Toronto between 17th and 21st April, this festival and market is hailed as one of the most important dates of the year on the international documentary film calendar.
Accompanying the Catalan regional television broadcaster is a delegation made up of producers and distributors who will be bringing along projects for both co-production and distribution. Thus, everyone will be taking part in a co-production meeting and luncheon hosted by the organizers of the documentary market.
In all, some twenty programmes will be presented at Docshops, including Milton, el nieto de la abuela (Motion Pictures); Diumenge a les cinc (Sunday at Five), produced by Televisió de Catalunya and which was already selected at the FIPA Market; and Jesús Garay's Mirant al cel (Looking at the Sky, co-produced by Massa d'Or, Televisió de Catalunya and Instituto Luce), which looks back on the attacks on the city of Barcelona during the Spanish Civil War.
