Enric Folch's Alleged Involvement (Zip Films) and Railroad Crossing (Manium Produccions) by Pere Vilà bring the Catalan language to the screens of three international festivals
Enric Folch's most recent comedy is premiering internationally at Fantasporto (Oporto International Film Festival), and will immediately move on to the ¡Viva! Spanish and Latin American Film Festival (www.vivafilmfestival.com) in Manchester. For his part, filmmaker Pere Vilà is presenting Railroad Crossing at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival, after its round at the Rotterdam Festival. These are this year's first two representatives of original-version Catalan cinema in official international festival selections.
What's more, in Manchester Folch will be taking part in a round-table discussion about Catalan cinema in a session titled "Cafe Els Quatre Gats", which is supported by the Cervantes Institute. With his previous film, Tempus fugit (Mallerich Films, TVC), Folch was already selected at dozens of festivals that had never before featured an original-version film in the Catalan language. As to Railroad Crossing, the film will continue on its international circuit with two events more: BAFICI and INDIELISBOA.
