Now, this recently-constituted consortium is tackling is main mission: promotion in the main markets and festivals of the sectors and support for producers through all kinds of initiative to place films and television production within the international showcase.
The path cleared by the Catalan audiovisual industry during this time has not been that easy, yet it has been able to show its talent inside and outside European frontiers. The nomination of Balseros by Carles Bosch and Josep Maria Domènech to the 2004 Oscars, the recent award for the Best International Short at Sundance for La ruta natural by Àlex Pastor or the four recent Goyas for La vida secreta de las palabras by Isabel Coixet are milestones in a filmography that has cultivated a particular maturity in all genres.
